I am being admitted for anorexia on thursday and need advice?

I am going to an adolescent psych unit, and need some advice on things to take?

from things to do to what i will need.

any ideas?I am being admitted for anorexia on thursday and need advice?
bring clothes, loads of comfy stuff, dvds, books, anything that will make you feel better like pictures of friends and family. Also, things that will make your room brighter like posters.

Try not to worry, going there is the first step to recovery, embrace it as a positive experience.

good luck on your recoveryI am being admitted for anorexia on thursday and need advice?
They will most likely have a room with a TV and some board games, but in my experience they will take anything away from you that will cause a disruption or could be considered harmful.

For example, no jewelry, no video game systems, no electronics, no ';questionable'; literature (I was reading Stephen King when I was admitted). Things might be different at yours, and might have changed since I was admitted, but it's a good list to start with.

Bring clothing, obviously, and everything you'll need to shower. Shampoo, soap, etc. Bring a toothbrush and toothpaste, and maybe a few books to keep yourself occupied when you're not busy. Other than that, everything else will be provided for you.
i just recently got back from a place like that. my friend was there for anorexia. where i was, there were no short shorts, no tanktops, no low cut shirts, no electronics (ipods, cameras), no makeup compacts with mirrors, if you bring a book, they checked it to make sure it was appropriate, all hygeine products (shampoo, body wash, lotion) MUST be new. otherwise, you could have put something in it. and thats all i can think of.... if you need any other advice, i'd be happy to share my experiences with you. email me: inspired_insanity92@yahoo.com where are you going? i f you don't mind me asking.
I've been there done that (but for bulimia) i found that there can be a lot of stress accompanied with going to a new place. Bring clothes (comfy ones) that hold some value to you. They might make the whole thing a little easier. Bring something like a blanket or something special that will sort of be like 'bringing home' with you. That's really all that's important when it comes to bringing (besides what you need). As for what to do...bring a positive attitude and WANT to change. I didn't and when I left the clinic...I relapsed. Only go if you actually want to get help. Listen to what they say no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Participate in the activities, follow through with what you NEED to do. Anyway...that's really all.
I'm not that sure, but photo's of loved ones, a diary, teddy, laptop.
I had a similar experience to Mina's. She pretty much got it right on the money. Generally just take only your basic needs because they tend to take anything else away from you.
