I am relocating to newcastle with my 3 year old son but never lived there before and need advice on good areas?

I am looking to rent in an area that is near to a good nursery and school and also has job oppertunities. it is not essential but i would like to be close to the city centre or freemans hospital. Any information on good areas to raise kids would be great.I am relocating to newcastle with my 3 year old son but never lived there before and need advice on good areas?
it depends on your budget. Places like Jesmond for a 2 bed flat you can be paying up to 拢700pcm, places like Heaton up to 拢550. Kingston Park %26amp; Gosforth, South Gosforth around 拢600pcm.

The west of the city is cheaper (Benwell, Fenham), as is further out to the east (Heaton, Wallsend, Walker) or then onto the coast north shields, whitley bay and tynemouth (expensive). Or over the river in Gateshead you'll find cheaper rent and great transport links.

Wherever you are, the city is accessible using the metro. nexus.org.uk for more info.

try putting some of these places into rightmove.co.uk and see what comes up for your budget :)I am relocating to newcastle with my 3 year old son but never lived there before and need advice on good areas?
I have a 3 year old son and live near the city centre. To be honest there is good and bad in every area of the city.

Places like Gosforth and Jesmond have seen as the better places to live but they are expensive.

The poorer areas often have the better facilities as more money is put into these areas.

I live in Benwell, it's in the westend of the city. It takes me 15 minutes to walk into the city centre.

It does not have the best reputation. I never stepped foot here till I met my husband. I was surprised how much I came to love the place. It's a great mix of rich and poor and people of all ethnic backgrounds.

My son attends a brilliant sure start nursery. I was so lucky to get him in.
