I eat very healthy and exercise- but my problem is portion size. I am about 7 pounds away from my target weight, and I have come to conclusion that I am eating too much at a sitting, even though its healthy. My main problem is that I eat until I am full-which I know is wrong. My problem is more mental. I was hoping someone might have some tricks to make me feel full or at least feel satisfied with smaller portions. Ideas? Thanks!Does anyone have any advice on how to eat less?
You should eat until you are filled then stop. You should not eat a bite more when you are filled. The advantage of being filled at each meal is that it help you to avoid snacking, which in turn have you eating far lest for the day, while your digestive system is given time to rest. Also you do not run the risk of under eating.
If your diet is mainly vegetables you should not have a problem with your volume as long as you do not go over fill. Vegetables, especially when eaten raw are very nutritious and are not fattening. Most fruits also are not fattening.
Chew your foods longer than you'd normally do. You'll find that you eat far lest. This might take some effort, since you might find that the inclination is to swallow at your normal pace. However with practice you'll start chewing much longer.
Another thing, it is better to eat complex carbohydrates such as yam, potatoes, green bananas, etc. than pasta. Why? Complex carbohydrate has other nutrients necessary for good health. Pasta is pure empty carb - flour - no other nutrients. The calories in pasta is higher than any complex carbohydrate you can think of.
Does anyone have any advice on how to eat less?
By full, do you mean ';I can't possibly eat another bite/I'm stuffed';? If you feel this way as opposed to feeling satisfied, then you are probably eating too much.
Do you eat while you are doing other things? Do you skip meals? Keep a food diary for a while. Don't focus on calories- focus on what you eat, when you eat, how long it takes you to eat, and how you felt before (anything from famished to bored) and after (same idea). After a week or two, take a look. Do you wait hours before meals and have a hard time slowing down? How quickly do you eat? Again, do you eat while you are on the computer or watching TV? All of these things can prevent you from really listening to your body's fullness signals (particularly being distracted while eating). Using smaller plates is a good way to cut portion sizes and still keep your plate full (this can satisfy your brain). Staying hydrated also helps.
Also remember that weight loss is typically slow toward the end.On top of watching your diet a little more closely, try changing up your workouts a little. Our bodies can become used to doing the same exercise over and over, slowing down our progress and becoming less and less effective.
Eat slowly, because it takes your body 10 minutes before it recognizes that its full. Also drink water right before and during your meal--this makes a big big difference. Any liquid at all will do this to you--coffee, tea, low fat milk are all good. Put less food on your plate (there are actually studies that show that you eat less when there is less on your plate to begin with. and my little tip is: brush your teeth right away when you're done eating a reasonable portion size, it always zaps away the desire to eat more.
this article really helps--

In the beginning diets are hard. Over time your stomach shrinks and you just generally get full quicker. So it gets easier.
Plus initially, all your thinking about is your diet and food. After a bit, you aren't thinking about it all the time. So the mental hard part of it passes too.
That being said, i don't beleive in dieting and definately not in portion cutting. Exercise.
Goodluck
Eating until you feel full is not a bad thing. I think it actually makes sense. Try drinking a significant amout of water before a meal to make you feel full or eat a handful of nuts before a meal such as almonds or peanuts. Nuts can be filling but make sure they aren't salted as they can make you crave more salty food. Also try using smaller dishes. This gives the illusion that you are actually eating a big portion. You just have to know when to stop. Its helped me. I'm 5lbs away from my goal. Congrats on the weight loss. Good luck to you!
Eat more pasta and breads, they expand in your stomach and make you feel more full. Any type of starchy food will help you eat less and still be healthy.
try eating apples or something fat free very low calories right before meals ,fill up on those foods before you fill up on the bad kinda foods ,bad for diets that is
try upping your exercise for a few weeks and see if that helps. Burn those extra calories instead of cutting down
Drink an 8 oz glass of water before each meal.
drink a large glass of water before you eat this will help fill you up.

I start college soon and I'm scared, any tips or advice for me?
It's so different from high school! I keep forgetting the the classes I picked are only a semester long and not a year, like in high school. I'm scared that I will get lost and be late! I'm freaking out! The campus is so big! I start on Aug. 25th. I start college soon and I'm scared, any tips or advice for me?
be yourself. act confident even if you dont feel it. and if you fancy having a bit of a change. such as clothes. or hair style. now is the time to do it. because nobody will know any different.. the new people that you meet at college. and smile lots. people respond well to a welcoming smile. you will make new friends in no times. and as for getting lost and being late. get there early the first few times and have a wander round a familiarise yourself with the buildings you use. thats what i did in my first year of uni last year and it really helped! good luck :-) I start college soon and I'm scared, any tips or advice for me?
Get this book ASAP ';What Smart Students Know'; by Adam Robinson.
Excellent primer on how to handle professors and course workloadd as well as how to get the work done.
As far as getting around a big school - follow the other newbees. The crowd effect will help keep you moving in the right direction.
Plus college professors by and large do not care if you are on time to class or not. Totally different attitude about attendance - so being late is not a big the first month.
Take a deep breath and calm down. Now, you won't be the only freshman who gets lost so don't worry about it. Walk the campus and get to know all the classroom building locations. Once classes start you won't forget when they end. Yes college is different - you will be making your own choices and you won't always make the right choices. But this is a big step in growing up, the start of a new life adventure. Dive into it and get the most out of it. Good luck!
you will LOVE it. It will be FUN.....Mark my WORDS...........you are just experiencing EXCITEMENT over the unknown. But it will be SO MUCH FUN and you will LOVE it.....you WONT get lost.....Just Remember the NAME of the building they all have different NAMES and you can always ASK people on the Campus are amoung the NICEST you will ever meet. Because they are HAPPY to be in such a fun, and exciting place.
You should plan to get tours of the classes and memorize the classes and also make sure you have all the stuff you need for your books and papers. that's all i know. I'm going in 7th grade but I'm a straight A student and am always organized.
I'm assuming that you'll be getting to campus before classes actually begin. On one of those first few days, print off your class schedule and find your classes. Time how long it takes you to walk from one class to the one that follows. Figure out the shortest path. You'll be well prepared for your first day.

I need advice to buy french red wine?
This is a gift, but I have no idea what French wine is good. My price range is $100 - $150
Thanks.I need advice to buy french red wine?
OK, I really had to try not to laugh about the guy who suggests getting a 1982 bordeaux for he price range your able to afford.
For $100-150 I recommend 1996 Pichon-Lalande (a Pauillac - left bank red primarily cabernet sauvignon). It should cost about $140 in most wine shops. If you have time to buy online and have it sent I recommend K%26amp;L Wines in CA or Pops Wines in NY. If I recall, it got 95 points from Robert Parker.
Pichon-Lalande is generally a great value compared to 1st cru bordeaux. The reason is that it is technically 2nd cru but only because when the 1st cru wineries were selected in 1855 they only wanted five wineries. Pichon-Lalande got the short end of the stick. Otherwise, it rates as good or better than most 1st wines.I need advice to buy french red wine?
You must check for two things when buying a bottle of wine.
First, for the place where it comes from, then for the date of production.
It depends on what kind of wine you prefer. I love wines from Bordeaux, but some stronger wines can be found in Bourgogne. Of course you can always buy Champagne.
My recommandation will be a Bordeaux, and I'll take a ';Chateau Margaux';. The years are really important too. 1982 is one of the greatest. 1983, 1998 and 2000 are good years too. Ask for advice in the shop...
Ask a sommelier. Or just go your local liquor store and ask the owner.
The french have a government quality rating which will make your purchase easy. Buy a Grand Cru. Or if you have trouble with that the second level is called Premier Cru. They will say this on the lable. Ignore the rest of the information on the lable. every single well made wine has style and nuance that will be well recieved by a wine drinker.
Go to a really nice liquor store and ask for advice on French wines. They know more than anyone what they have stocked and why it is good. My personal advice is if this is a gift, the French wines have been proven to be worse than the American red wines due to several years of a bad fungus on the grapes over there that blighted the grapes and so there are some really great wines from America and other countries that as far as the taste is concerned are actually rated better. Go for the ones that have actually won awards for taste, not what country they come from and the person who recieves this wine will be impressed with your effort to get them something different.origins

Im a truckers daughter, Its a community of its own if your truly wanting to be a truck driver notify a local company and ask them what truck driving school they reccomend.

Also, beware of company's wanting you to haul oversized loads.. They pay good money but will run you ragged, because there are some states you cant travel thru with these types of loads.
It's a solitary lifestyle, with no kids has your wife thought about joining you in this venture, I know several driving teams that are husband and wife..
Good luck in your venture, and thanks for serving our country for the past 6 years.Any good advice for a 27 year old looking at becoming a truck driver?
Drive safely and beware of serial killer hitchhikers.

My friend Ed left a good IT job to hit the road.
As long as your wife doesn't mind you being away from her and you don't use those truck stop ho's to relieve yourself then have fun!
well, you say you were in the army, here is what my buddy did who was also in the army, he had big muscles, he went to a truck stop and when the guy got done pumping the gas into the rig, he headbutted the guy and threw him in the garbage, then he took the rig to the pay n' spray and did the truck driver mission, then he stole the goods he was supposed to deliver to the customer and sold it on the black market along with his grandmother, he made a handsome living off of this, now i'm not saying that this is your best bet, but it is a start, best of luck to you friend, please don't hunt me down and kill me with a punch to the nose in a sweeping upwards strike, lodging my nose bone into my brain, thanks
work hard... strive harder... dream big...

Which good advice can you give on having two dogs on the same house?
First of all, its best if you spend time with them to figure out which one is the dominant one, and how far he will go to establish it. One dog could seriously enjure another. If they are puppies, they will learn as they grow, and there shouldnt be a fuss over whos the boss. One will take the others lead, and it should stick. Older dogs, how ever, are already set in thiere ways, and if they dont know each other, it could pose problems. Just observe and come to your best opinion. They could be best freinds.Which good advice can you give on having two dogs on the same house?
Make sure that they are opposite sex, having the same sex dogs it is not a good idea. Saw this topic on Dog Whispers with that Cesar.Which good advice can you give on having two dogs on the same house?
Not really sure what your looking for here, dogs are social animals so usually they perfer others of the same species around. Whether male or female shouldn't matter. One will be more dominate thus the Alpha male and the second will follow in hand. So what's the issue??
you could consider using Bach flower remedies for dominance or jealousy they have been used in England for70 years and are used by the royal family
I guess I don't actually know what your question is??? I have 11 dogs and 3 five week old puppies. So, I don't see a problem with 2?
Need a little more info. Do you have one now and are adding a 2nd? Breeds, male/female, etc.
What kind of dogs, male or female, age?
A lot of unanswered questions, like the sex and age of the dogs, was one dog there first and you are introducing a new dog?
If you are getting two dogs at the same time, it will make it easier if they are one male and one female. 2 Females may fight to gain dominance and the alpha position. 2 Males may also fight for this same reason, although not as much as females.
In any case, have both dogs spayed or neutered. This will help with attitude as well as house marking and over behaviour problems.
If you have a dog in the house already and are bringing in a new dog, introduce the dogs at a neutral place, not your house.
Go to a park or parking lot, and introduce the dogs there. This will let the existing dog be comfortable meeting the new dog and not feeling threatened and having to protect their turf or their people.
In any case, make sure once both dogs are in the house that they are treated equally, same amount of attention, same food but in separate dishes, consistency in everything so one does not feel they need to be dominant over you.
The dogs will soon determine who is alpha dog among the 2 dog pack. There may be a few scuffles periodically. As long as there is no threat of damage to either dog, allow the dogs to work it out themselves. One will assert their dominance, the other will agree, and peace will be restored.
the bulldog will be more aggressive unless you make them get along with each other. boxers are more friendly and bulldogs are more territorial.. be careful and have them both fixed so that they donot start marking their territories..lol
Make sure that both dogs know YOU are in charge. YOU are the alpha dog. Don't let them get away with ANY bad behavior. If you don't show them you are the top dog, they will fight over dominance. Be the top dog and show them all the goods ways to behave and have fun as a family. You should be fine. Watch ';The Dog Whisperer'; on the national geographic channel on friday nights. Some GREAT advise there, including what I just said. He has a pack of up to 30 dogs, including pitbulls, shepards, rottweilers, and small dogs and they get along just fine. HE is the leader. There is also ';It's me or the dog'; on animal planet. I think that's on friday night too, but a different time. Good luck!
Buy a lot of Fabreeze and tape rollers.....seriously. I have a heck of a time keeping my house smelling good and hair free and I have only one pup.
You have to establish which one is the dominant of the two and continue this order. The other one's feelings won't be hurt if you greet the dominant one first or feed him first.
If there is a big size difference between the dogs you should keep them separate while they're either not being supervised or when you're not home. Not because they'd fight- but if they play the larger one could accidentally injure the smaller one.
Try to sync their schedules by making sure they eat at the same time, exercise together and rest together. That way one won't be bouncing off the walls or have to go out when the other one has settled down and so have you.
Having two dogs is great :) I think it's the perfect amount of dogs to have because there's not dominance tension and it's easy to give them both all your love. They also amuse themselves and you!

I need advice on falling asleep; how can I get back on my sleep schedule? Barely got 4 hours last night?
I wake up M W F at 9:00am, T TH at 7:00am, and Sa Su at 11:00 am. My school schedule is hectic and sleeping later one day and getting up early the next repeatedly is making me sick.
Im not getting any sleep at night and I feel sick.I need advice on falling asleep; how can I get back on my sleep schedule? Barely got 4 hours last night?
You should try going to sleep and waking up at the same time everyday so your body can get used to it. Don't take naps until your night schedule is on track again. If you drink any caffeinated things (i.e. cola, coffee, tea, etc.), cut it out for a week. Avoid watching TV before you go to bed; it wires some people up. Also, though this never bothered me, you might want to cut out sugar any time after 7:00 pm. I used to have insomnia too, but I did these things and it worked.I need advice on falling asleep; how can I get back on my sleep schedule? Barely got 4 hours last night?
try taking some tylonel pm. or ask your parents to pick you up some strong sleep medicine. make sure you take it at like 8 or 9 so you dnt over sleep. ;)
well maybe u should contact a doctor or maybe try trying some benadryl it will knock u out in a second

My 10 week old Boxer puppy died yesterday and the necropsy came back undetermined cause of death. Any advice?
My 10 week old boxer puppy died yesterday. The necropsy came back ';undetermined cause';. Any advice to what may have happened? She started vomiting foam and blood, then fell over.
If anyone has any insight, please share it. My 10 week old Boxer puppy died yesterday and the necropsy came back undetermined cause of death. Any advice?
foaming at the mouth and vomiting is often a sign of ingesting something bad. You know even ONE Advil can kill a dog. but like everyone else if the vet doesnt' know I can't say. I am sorry your puppy died.. very sad! My 10 week old Boxer puppy died yesterday and the necropsy came back undetermined cause of death. Any advice?
I would contact the seller and see what they have to say. It sounds like it might have been something from birth or the conditions it was living in. However, since I'm not a vet and don't have their expertise, they would know more than I.
It just seems odd that a 10 wk old pup would die such a horrible death and no reasonable explanation for it.
Was this a vet of your own choosing or a vet the breeder told you to go to? Lots of times, those vets cannot be trusted simply because they are being paid off by the breeders.
if the vet doesn't know, I am sure I can't answer any better- epilepsy? stroke? I am sorry for your loss- it's always hard to lose a pet.
Was he by any chance hit by a car?
If the vet can't tell you, we certainly can't.
so sorry to hear of your loss. but pups sometimes do die, ask any breeder. where did you get the pup from?
