Any Suggestions and Advice on buying a Vacuum>>?

I am looking for a powerful, space efficient vacuum,

my question is: is a 10 Amp Motor more powerful than a 7 Amp Motor, or how does that work??

Any Suggestions and Advice on buying a Vacuum%26gt;%26gt;?
Buy the best vacuum you can afford to buy with the features you like. A canister vac is easier to take up and down stairs, especially if it has one of those wand attachements with the brushes so you can do furniture and steps. (a very nice feature). Get one with a long hose--so you can vacuum draperies and tall shelves---and with lots of attachements like brushes and crevice tools. Get one that has the ease of use of these--so you don't have to haul a box of attachments with you everywhere.

Get a powerful one! The more amps the better. Cyclonic vacuums are okay--but very expensive. And the problem with vacuums is not really whether or not they ';lose suction'; as some popular ads say, but whether they are easy to use, the bags can be emptied, and the attachments are useful. A good mid-priced non-cyclonic vacuum cleaner (preferably a cannister type) is a very powerful machine that will last for years and years and will cause you almost no problems. Get one that uses a popular bag style. Dust cups are not pleasant to use, empty, or clean. Bags come out and go right into the trash. (not as ';green'; but then, not as problematic, either.)

Get one with a long cord that won't be in the way when you use it. Nothing is more annoying than sweeping and tripping over your vacuum cord everywhere. Get a vacuum with good filters that can be washed, and don't have to be replaced all the time.

Think about your house and your situation when you shop. Can this vac go up and down steps? Will it get into corners? Will it pick up all that dog and cat hair? Will it do furniture and drapes? Will I have to pay for expensive dust bags, filters, or belts? Will it pick up wet messes as well as dry?

And consider this:

In years of buying and using vacuums I've found that the best doggone vacs on the market are usually SHOP VACS. They are cleanable, and pick up ANYTHING. And they come with tons of attachments, need no bags, have long cords, are well-designed and simple to use, are easy to carry, store, and understand, and are usually cheaper than the best-designed house vac of the same power. When the shop vac gets full, you open it up, dump it out, rinse it out and put it back together. You can use them inside and outside, wet and dry.

Something to think about!Any Suggestions and Advice on buying a Vacuum%26gt;%26gt;?
Yes. It means the motor will probably last longer and not burn out as fast. Being in the maintenance business for over 35 years, I have tried most of the vacuums out there. My recommendation is for the Sanitaire with the dust cup as opposed to the filter bag. It does have a tall handle on it, but it really isn't that much bigger than most and it is easy to use, powerful and easy to change parts on when, and if, they do need replacement.
The answer to your question is yes. The higher the AMP the stronger the suction the vacuum cleaner has. That means the 10 AMP motor will pick up more dirt. The vacuum cleaner that you want to buy is a Dirt Devil Ultra Vision Turbo with 12AMP. It has 33% more suction power than leading modal from Bissell %26amp; Hoover. I have one and enjoy using it because it has so much suction and is light weight when I use it. It has tools on it that you can use easily and it is bagless. So it will save you money with it being bagless. I got mine at Walmart on sale for $83.00. I think it cost about $100.00. It is worth the money because you do not want to buy a cheap one that you have to replace often. The cheaper ones wear out in no time. Make sure when you buy this one at the store check on the box the size of belt that you need. You always need to buy an extra belt when you buy a vacuum cleaner. Make sure when you use it, check on the rotary belt any hairs that accumulated over time because if you don't clean the hairs out it will make the belt burn up. If you ever smell a burning smell it is time to change the belt or clean out the hairs if the belt isn' already burt up. You will be pleased with the vacuum cleaner mentioned above because I have tryed Hoover brand and they don't last long.

This Dirt Devil Ultra Vision 12AMP is a winner. Go for it!!
I just bought a white Sears canister vacuum that uses the HEPA filters. It has great suction on bare floors %26amp; carpeting. I have use many brand names of sweepers throughout the years, but I'm sold on my new one. It has an extra long retractable cord, %26amp; attachments are tucked away %26amp; out of sight until needed. It has the power bar which makes vacuuming thorough %26amp; easy. It was a bit expensive, but with the Sears name on it, I am confident that it will be dependable for many years to come. It has a few features on it that caught my eye when I was looking at it, so I spent my money wisely, no doubt about it.
I suggest you get a hoover that has cloth bags has its cheaper to empty and saves buying disposables and the higher the watts the more power-full it is to hoover up the pieces of the carpet.
