I am in search of a wonderfully written romance novel with lot of fluff that makes me giggle and sends shivers down my spine. I love a little mystery with a good amount of humor tossed in to. I am a HUGE Julie Garwood fan and own/read almost all of her novels. So if anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.Could anyone give me advice on a good romance novel?
This is a list of ROMANCE WRITERS from my website. I have only listed those I truly love, but my tastes vary so if you don't like one try another. At the link below you will find titles for each person on this list AND at that link if you click on an author's name you will be taken to their official website or another appropriate page for that author.
Jo Beverly, Maeve Binchy, Sandra Brown, Catherine Coulter, Millie Criswell, Barbara Delinsky, Jude Deveraux, Jane Feather, Dorothy Garlock, Julie Garwood, Heather Graham Pozzessere, Robin Lee Hatcher, Linda Howard, Joan Johnston, Jayne Ann Krentz (Amanda Quick), Judith McNaught, Debbie Macomber, Linda Lael Miller, Constance O'Day-Flannery, Maggie Osborne, Diana Palmer, Rosamunde Pilcher, Mary Jo Putney, Nora Roberts, Dallas Schulze, Anne Rivers Siddons, LaVyrle Spencer, Danielle Steel, and Susan Wiggs.
You might want to start with Nora Roberts MacGregor Series or MacKade Brothers.Could anyone give me advice on a good romance novel?
Now, when I tell you the author of the best romance novel I've read (and I don't take very much pleasure in reading them but i was glad I did) don't go off the deep end and not consider my advice. Don't do that.
Stephen King wrote what I think is one of the most prolific and looked over romances in the 21st century. The name of it is Lisey's Story, and what it lacks in horror (you would think because Stephen King is straight horror) it makes up for in true and genuine romance and plot. Another good one by him is Bag Of Bones, which is in my opinion, something that will change your views on the stereotypes King recieves in his genre. Romance, romance, romance....
I won't call myself a fan, but those two books are true to the style.
I like my romances funny and most often with a paranormal bent (vamps, weres, etc) but I read just about any kind of romance you can imagine. Favortie Authors:
-Christine Feehan (have read all of hers and has multiple series)
-Sherilyn Kenyon (ditto)
-Mary Janice Davidson (multiple series plus stand alones. She is hands down the funniest romance writer I've ever read)
-Kresley Cole (her Dark series is amazing)
-Jayne Anne Krentz (lots of romantic suspense but a lot of fluff as well....)
-Sandra Hill (she's got cajuns and Vikings and millitary men, and it's much funnier than I can make it sound here)
-Lynsay Sands (a vampire who passes out at the sight of blood?!?!)
Some other good ones that will give you romance and thrills:
Sharon K Butcher
Marlis Melton
Karen Robards (One Summer and Walking After Midnight especially)
I love Julie Garwood too. I have read a ton of her stuff. Not many of her contemporaries though. let's see therer is Open Season by Linda Howard; Lola Carlyle Reveals all by Rachel Gibson(and others by Rachel Gibson); All of Lisa Kleypas' books are good; Susan Anderson, Faking It by Jennifer Crusie( or anything she writes) She's really funny.
I love Janet Evanovich's books. I don't know that you would call the Stephanie Plum series a romance series but its good. But she does have a set of romances that are wonderful. They are funny and sweet and romantic. My favorites are Rocky Road to Romance, Thanksgiving, and Smitten. The whole list is as follows.
Manhunt
Grand Finale
Thanksgiving
Love Overboard
Back to the Bedroom
Smitten
Wife for Hire
The Rocky Road to Romance
Naughty Neighbor
Hope this helps. Happy Reading~
